Nick Polit has more than 30 years in business development in Latin America, with a proven track record in new international markets. He is currently the Global Business Development executive at Modulbox.
Nick had a key role in developing the business in Mexico and paved the way for the modular prefabricated industry, which includes manufacturers, transportation companies and subcontractors. He successfully lobbied the government for a paradigm shift in the regulation of construction, municipal financing and bond issuance and ensured comprehensive regulatory changes at the municipal, state and federal levels for product standardization and improvements in infrastructure standards.
He was the first to develop an image of leadership in the construction systems market, offering products and services hand in hand to meet customer requirements: Design - Construction - Financing of turnkey projects. He formed partnerships with builders, developers, architects and engineers, creating innovative products and identifying new markets.
Until May 2013, Nick was Director General and CEO at Algeco Scotsman Mexico where he was instrumental in formulating the company’s entry into the country and developed marketing and sales strategies with P&L responsibility for $30M in revenue and $60M in assets. He achieved CAGR EBITDA growth of 78% from 2010 to 2012 and 71% CAGR revenue growth over 7 years, where he was mainly focused on financial forecasting and reporting, systems implementation and integration, developing and implementing key annual initiatives for revenue generation, tax strategy, safety compliance and asset management. Prior to this, he was CEO at GE Capital Mexico.
Nick spent 4 years in Panama as a consultant to various start-ups and as of 2017 has returned to Mexico City to join Modulbox and is dedicated to urban residential and commercial renewal projects. Nick has lived and done business the world over and lived in 11 countries. Having worked for European PE firms and US Global 50 public companies, he is well versed in the insights that companies are looking for in considering investment projects and risk analysis in Latin America.
